【Valley Shidokan JKA Karate-Do】　2 Inspiring Seminars for JKA BC

 

★June 2016

Oishi Sensei and Sakurai Sensei working with Don Sharp Sensei brought an amazing seminar to Chilliwack this last June; 3 generations of Karate history! Oishi Sensei taught excellent drills for helping students understand, practice, and feel the fundamentals of JKA basics, kata and kumite. His style and character communicate the JKA way with every word he says and move he makes.

 

★November 2016

Shimizu Sensei visited Vancouver B.C. this winter and taught alongside Sensei Don Sharp in two seminars, one in Kelowna, and one in Chilliwack. Over these two weekends they taught well over 100 participants. Shimizu Sensei’s main focus was on the internal mechanics of JKA Karate. With technical explanations and basics drills designed to make your brain work just as hard as your body, he helped us connect mind, body and spirit.

Both seminars focused on the importance of 5 step sparring in the development of kumite distance, timing and feeling. They also helped reinforce the importance of propagating the JKA standard through quality instruction, hard training and dedicated focus.
