The 5th JKA Los Angeles Super Budo Karate Seminar
(Los Angeles, California, USA)

From March 27 to 29, 2026, the 5th JKA Super Budo Karate Seminar, hosted by JKA Los Angeles, was successfully held under the instruction of Shihan Naka at the Headquarters Dojo of JKA Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California, USA.

This seminar marked its fifth edition and welcomed the largest number of participants among all five events held to date, making it a truly outstanding and highly successful gathering. With the generous support of JKA Arizona, JKA of California, JKA GWU, JKA Oregon Shiba, and many other JKA-affiliated organizations and Mr. Nishimura, Chairman of North American Shihan-kai, also attended as a guest, the seminar transcended the boundaries of individual associations and brought together participants not only from across the United States, but also from JKA dojos in other countries. As a result, the event became both international in scope and deeply meaningful.

During the seminar, Shihan Naka provided detailed and profound instruction in the fundamentals of Budo Karate, as well as kata, kumite, and bunkai, combining technical precision with practical application. It was an invaluable learning opportunity for all participants, many of whom were able to directly experience the essence of JKA Budo Karate and return to their respective dojos with renewed inspiration and insight.

In addition, dan examinations and various qualification tests were conducted during the seminar. The JKA Judge qualification seminar was also held, contributing not only to the technical development of the participants but also to the cultivation of qualified personnel who support the operation of karate tournaments.

To further strengthen friendship and fellowship among participants, both lunch parties and dinner parties were organized during the event. These occasions provided wonderful opportunities for instructors, students, and members from different countries and regions to deepen their connections, making the seminar meaningful not only in training but also in personal exchange.

On the final day of the seminar, a JKA karate tournament was also held under the supervision of officially qualified JKA Judges. Many association members and competitors were able to demonstrate the results of their daily training in a highly meaningful and spirited competition. In particular, the final team kumite event
brought tremendous excitement, as members from different dojos competed together on the same teams. Children and adults united in support, creating an atmosphere of great enthusiasm and solidarity. It was truly a memorable moment that embodied the spirit of Budo, transcending dojo affiliations and generations.

As JKA members, we will continue to organize more competitions under JKA rules and strive to share the excellence of JKA tournaments with even more karate practitioners in the future.

第5回 JKA Los Angeles武道空⼿セミナー 報告書
（アメリカ合衆国カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルス）

2026年3⽉27⽇から29⽇にかけて、アメリカ合衆国カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルスにおいて、JKAロサンゼルス本部主催による「第5回JKA 武道空⼿セミナー」が、中師範のご指導のもと、JKA Los Angelesの本部道場にて盛⼤に開催されました。

本セミナーは今回で第5回⽬を迎え、過去5回の開催の中でも最も多い参加者を迎える、⼤変盛況な催しとなりました。開催にあたっては、JKA Arizona、JKA of California、JKA GWU、JKA Oregon Shibaをはじめ、JKA加盟団体の垣根を越えて、アメリカ国内のみならず、⽇本をはじめ海外のJKA所属道場からも多⼤なるご協⼒を賜り、北⽶師範会⻄村会⻑も駆けつけて頂き、国際⾊豊かで意義深いセミナーとなりました。

セミナーでは、中師範より武道空⼿の基本をはじめ、形、組⼿、そして分解に⾄るまで、実践を交えた細やかで⾼度なご指導を賜り、参加者⼀同にとって⾮常に有意義で学びの多い機会となり、それぞれの道場へ多くの学びと刺激を持ち帰られたことと思います。

また、セミナー期間中には昇段審査および各種資格試験も実施され、さらに審判資格セミナーも開催され、技術の向上だけでなく、⼤会運営を⽀える⼈材育成の⾯においても⼤きな成果を収めることができました。

加えて、期間中には参加者同⼠の親睦を深めるため、ランチパーティーやディナーパーティーも開催され、国内外から集まった先⽣⽅、⽣徒、関係者の交流が⼤いに深まりました。稽古のみならず、こうした交流の時間もまた、本セミナーの⼤きな魅⼒の⼀つとなりました。

セミナー最終⽇には、JKA審判資格保持の審判による空⼿⼤会も開催され、協会メンバーおよび選⼿たちは、⽇頃の鍛錬の成果を存分に発揮することができました。
特に最終⽇に⾏われた組⼿団体戦では、他道場の選⼿同⼠が同じチームを組み、⼦供も⼤⼈も⼀丸となって応援し、⼤会は⼤変な盛り上がりを⾒せました。道場や世代の枠を越えて⼼を⼀つにする、まさに武道の精神を体現する素晴らしいひとときとなりました。

私たちJKAメンバーは、今後も引き続きJKAルールによる試合を数多く開催し、より多くの空⼿家の皆様にJKA⼤会の素晴らしさを知っていただけるよう努めてまいります。
