【SWITZERLAND】Sensei Sugimura Memorial Gasshuku and Dan Examination in Switzerland 5.– 8. August 2021

It is our pleasure to report to you about our Summer Gasshuku “Sensei Sugimura Memorial Gasshuku” and Dan Examinations.

We could finally organize again a Gasshuku in 2021! Although with COVID restrictions, but the joy of training together was much greater!

Unfortunately, Ogura Sensei and Kurihara Sensei could not enter Switzerland again this year due to COVID restrictions, that was a pity, we have understanding for that.

Therefore, we are already looking forward to welcoming Ogura Sensei and Kurihara Sensei to Switzerland in August 2022! Hopefully without CORONA restrictions.

Sensei Sugimura Memorial Gasshuku in Bern 5 – 8 August 2021

Around 100 people came to Bern for 5 days to participate at the Gasshuku. Only people who had a full COVID vaccination or were tested daily on site were allowed in. These measures were important to protect the health of all participants and to reduce the pandemic.

The participants were divided into 4 groups, with 4 daily training sessions of Kihon Kata and Kumite as well as a health training (cooling down). As always, the Gasshuku training was very hard, but with a lot of enthusiasm and motivation of all participants.

Our instructors’ team with guest instructor Shihan Ochi from Germany and our instructors from Switzerland, Andrea Kennel, Christian Mundwiler, Berhard Isenegger and Tommaso Minì, contributed to an interesting and varied training.

Sunday, 8 August, was the day of the Dan examinations

We had 9 candidates for the exams, one for 1st Dan and eight for 2nd Dan. The candidates were very well prepared and fully met the requirements of the JKA Switzerland.

We are looking forward to the next Gasshuku in summer 2022
