【ROMANIA】JKA Autumn Camp Romania Iasi September 26-28, 2025

During the weekend that just ended, I was again in the dojo with Kunio Kobayashi Shihan. This time in another city in Romania, Iasi. A university city, full of history, which offers interesting views to any visitor.

In an autumn weather, pleasant during the day and cool at night, we trained together with more than 100 black belts, and a group of almost 100 colored belts, in an extraordinary seminar led by Kobayashi Sensei.

Our participants were mainly members of JKA Romania and JKA Moldova, but we also had participants from other Shotokan organizations in Romania, and from Slovenia and Transnistria.

The colored belt team studied under the guidance of Kobayashi Sensei, the basic techniques, kata Heian Nidan, Sandan, Yondan, Godan along with the related applications, gohon and kihon ippon kumite. All of this with the emphasis placed by Kobayashi Sensei on the completion and correctness of the techniques, on the maximum stability of the positions, on the concentration on the direction of movement and the visualization of the imaginary or real opponent.

The black belt group had in the program basic techniques, kata Meikyo, Jion, Empi, Bassai dai, all of these transposed by Kobayashi Sensei through the maximum use of power, focusing on the transition from 0 to 100, in the movement of the body and the completion of the techniques, as well as the applications specific to each one.

Excellent demonstrations and explanations from Kobayashi Sensei. For the kumite training, this principle also had to be practically applied, along with an efficient control of the distance regarding the attack and defense.

All together they created a seminar with a lot of very good quality information, transposed through the demonstrations of energy and power of master Kunio Kobayashi.

Thank you very much to Kobayashi Shihan for this extraordinary Gasshuku!

Thank you and congratulations to all the participants! Oss!
