【NORWAY】 The Honbu Dojo seminar with HQ instructor Taniyama Sensei at Lura Karate Club

The first weekend of February, Norwegian Karate Association JKA hosted our annual Honbu Dojo seminar at Lura Karate Club. This time, Chief Instructor Larsen sensei had also invited Taniyama sensei, an instructor from JKA HQ in Tokyo. It was a great training camp with high quality training, standardization across the organization and new updates from JKA HQ.

On Friday 2 February we focused on the Shobu Ippon competition regulations, with both classroom teaching and practical appliance. On Saturday and Sunday, we focused on Jiyu Ippon kumite, kihon and the Jugo katas.

Larsen sensei and Taniyama sensei took turns leading the trainings, and answered any questions from the participants. There were many good and fruitful discussions on details in the katas, which were thoroughly explained and practiced.

During this course, international licenses up to B judge, C grading and B instructor could be obtained. Several of the participants from various clubs took advantage of this wonderful opportunity during this great visit from JKA HQ. The theory was conducted on Saturday and the practical test on Sunday. It was a tough practical test, but everyone made it through and passed their exams. Congratulations!

We would like to thank Larsen sensei for a wonderful Honbu Dojo course once again. He puts in an enormous amount of effort, with great dissemination of knowledge in addition to the respect he always shows all of us participants.

“Individually we are strong, but together we are stronger”.

Oss!
