【MOROCCO】Report on the 4th JKA Morocco Gasshuku Held from June 5 to June 7, 2026

Following the latest Gasshuku organized by JKA Morocco on June 5, 6, and 7, and after analyzing the available statistics, we can be proud of the success the event achieved on all levels.

There were 150 participants, including 50 instructors and 100 students. Thanks to the presence of participants from several countries, such as Spain, England, Germany, and Tunisia, the training took on an international dimension.

A key factor in this success was the organization of the event under the auspices of the Boughaz League of Northern Morocco, representing the Royal Moroccan Karate Federation. This fostered mutual collaboration between the JKA associations and the federation.

Furthermore, despite scheduling overlaps between JKA Morocco and the Federation, particularly regarding Sunday, June 7, 2026, we welcomed participants from various Moroccan cities, including Tangier (the host city), Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, and Tetouan. This initiative by JKA Morocco demonstrates its commitment to developing our traditional karate school’s style across the country and attracting more practitioners to the JKA.

Among our future goals is organizing a kumite competition to increase the number of members at this unique school and attract karate practitioners of all ages.

Finally, we would like to thank JKA HQ for its support and assistance, and above all our wonderful Sensei Koichiro Okuma for his attention and for sharing his knowledge.
