【MONGOLIA】2nd JKA Mongolia Karate Tournament

On December 24th, 2023, JKA Mongolia successfully hosted the “2nd JKA Mongolia Karate Tournament” in Ulaanbaatar. The event drew participation from 125 JKA Mongolia members of different ages and genders, engaging in individual Kata and Shobu Ippon Kumite.

Chief Instructor Giovanni Virardi expressed gratitude to all participants, their families, and volunteers in his opening speech. He emphasized the successes and numerous events organized by JKA Mongolia in 2023, highlighting the organization’s commitment to the ongoing development of traditional karate in Mongolia. He underscored that competitions are a means, not an ultimate goal, reiterating the primary objective of self-improvement through consistent karate practice.

The tournament witnessed a significant increase in participants compared to the previous year. All participants showcased remarkable skills, dedication, and discipline, resulting in no major injuries reported. Special acknowledgment was given to Burte-Ujin, securing first place in both Kata and Kumite. Burte-Ujin earned the prestigious “Best Athlete” prize and received a six-month scholarship sponsored by JKA Mongolia.

The event marked a resounding success, illustrating the continuous growth of JKA Mongolia and the enduring interest of Mongolians in traditional karate.

 

The Japan Karate Association is a Public Interest Incorporated Association certified by the Cabinet Office and is committed to cultivate youth with quality.
The Prime Minister Cup and the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports Cup are awarded to the national convention hosted by the Society.
