We are pleased to inform you that Dr Didier Samfat has been awarded the Certificate of Commendation by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The presentation was conducted by His Excellency Ambassador Mr. Masahiro Katan during an official ceremonyat his residence.

This prestigious distinction recognises Dr Samfat’s exceptional contribution to the development and promotion of JKA Karate in Mauritius. It also acknowledges his significant efforts in reinforcing the relations of friendship, cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and the Republic of Mauritius through the practice and dissemination of traditional karate.

Dr Samfat’s dedication to maintaining the highest technical and ethical standards of JKA Karate, his leadership in organising international seminars and competitions, and his work in expanding the influence of Japanese martial arts among youth and adults, have greatly enhanced the standing of JKA in the region. This award further confirms the positive impact of JKA values on international cooperation and cultural diplomacy.

We remain committed to upholding the principles and teachings of JKA as taught by Headquarters in Tokyo and will continue to develop Karate as a discipline of character, respect and excellence.
