The JKA WF Malta Gasshuku was successfully held on the 30th and 31st of August 2025, bringing together over 100 JKA members from across Malta, alongside friends from JKA Hungary.

Led by Hirose Hikaru Sensei — 4th Dan JKA HQ Instructor and 2024 All Japan & World JKA Kumite Champion — the seminar gave participants an inspiring chance to learn from one of today’s top karate competitors.

The sessions were both intensive and enjoyable, combining a spirit of hard work with a positive, light-hearted atmosphere. Training emphasized the effective use of the lower body, with Hirose Sensei providing detailed feedback especially for instructors, equipping them with practical ideas and strategies to help their students improve.

The highlight of the gasshuku was the variety of enjoyable training methods introduced. Exercises were designed to be engaging for all ages, from young children of 6 years to senior karateka in their 70s, ensuring that everyone could take away new learning and enjoyment from this experience.

We would like to sincerely thank JKA Malta and JKA Hungary members for coming together to share in this positive and enriching training experience.
