21st JKA INDIA NATIONAL KARATE CAMP & 10th SR, JR – 4th KYU GRADE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
7th – 11th Jan, 2026 – Mumbai.

Guest Instructor – Sensei Kazuaki Kurihara

 

Sensei Kurihara, the name itself spells perfection of techniques, one of the most talented and highly skilled karate Instructor not only of JKA but of the present times whose karate ; in general , is extremely refined, additionally, his command over teaching karate is something beyond words.

3 days of simple basics, numerous repetitions of shitei & sentei katas, practical applications of katas practiced repeatedly till the movement was understood as Sensei wanted us to and again repeating the kata for final touches.

Kumite drills were practiced to connect the unexperienced karatekas and giving them an indepth sight of what they were supposed to do in jyu kumite once they understood kihon & basic prearranged kumite.

Kurihara Sensei’s logical explanations of connecting all 3 aspects of JKA KARATE made it easier to understand even for the junior most members in the camp.

Our National Championship on last 2 days was even better than last year as in technical standards both of the participants and our judging panel, diligent practice and understanding of correct basics through scientific teaching methods has helped achieve this.

We had our Dan & Qualification Test as well, where in we saw our members passing out up till San Dan and qualifying in D Kyu – Instructor & Examiner License Test.

I thank Kurihara Sensei for his kind efforts to explain and teach with utmost sincerity and passionately.
