【ENGLAND】JKA WF England 2023 Spring Camp, Windsor

The annual Spring camp was held in the historic market town of Windsor, from 28th to 30th April 2023. It was held in Windsor Leisure Centre, on the banks of the picturesque Thames river.
Over 150 participants came from all over the UK and also Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Spain and Portugal.
The course was hosted by Kawasoe Sensei, JKA WF England, alongside Taniyama Sensei, JKA HQ.
The class was split into two, and there were two sessions each day. Amongst other things, Taniyama Sensei taught some great exercises to improve body dynamics, then applied these to some very useful kumite techniques. Kawasoe Sensei’s high level of technical understanding and ability was reflected in all his sessions. Training was intense, varied and enjoyed by all.
35 people took the JKA grading (1st to 5th Dan) on the Saturday, and Kawasoe Sensei commented on the high standard.
There was a warm and friendly atmosphere with Windsor Castle providing great back drop for people to meet after training and socialise.
Thanks to Kawasoe Sensei for organising this annual course again, and for his excellent, highly technical, and enthusiastic tuition.
Special thanks to Taniyama Sensei, for agreeing to travel to the UK for us, it was a great privilege and pleasure.  The amount of people that commented on how much they enjoyed his training was remarkable.
Thanks to everyone who attended over the three days. We can all look forward to the next Spring course which is provisionally booked for the 10-12th May 2024.
