JKA members in western Canada were fortunate to have the opportunity to train with Shiina Katsutoshi Sensei at a seminar hosted by Don Sharp Sensei in Chilliwack, British Columbia at the end of August 2023.  Shiina Sensei generously shared his expertise, particularly with regard to preparation for tournament kumite competition.  The yudansha who attended – from JKA clubs throughout British Columbia and Alberta – were particularly grateful for the lengthy question and answer session on the last morning of the multi-day seminar, at which Shiina Sensei provided his insights on a wide variety of topics raised by the participants.
