35th AKJKAQ SUMMER CAMP IN MONTREAL WITH SENSEI HIRAYAMA

From June 18 to 22, 2025 the AKJAKQ held its 35^th Summer Camp at ÉTS in Montréal with Sensei Yuko Hirayama, 7^th Dan, as the special guest Instructor from JKA Headquarters. Sensei Hirayama who had been the guest Instructor at the 2018 AKJKAQ’s Summer Camp had made a very good impression and everyone who was there in 2018 was happy to have the opportunity to benefit from her teaching again during a very stimulating 5 day’s Camp. Training sessions were perfectly balanced with elements of kihon, kata and kumite. Sensei Hirayama was excellent at pushing everyone to give their best. Often asking for more speed, intensity and spirit (kiai) while showing the way for correct techniques. This year’s Camp was a success with a total of 127 participants. The majority of them from Québec but we also had the pleasure to welcome karatekas from Ontario Alberta and USA.
The Camp concluded with Dan exam and Qualifications exam.
Congratulations to those who succeeded in their Dan exam (8 shodan, 4 nidan, 2 sandan, 4 yondan and 1 godan).
New Qualifications were also awarded (1 Instructor D, 3 Instructor C, 1 Judge D, 2 Judge C, 1 Judge B, 1 Examiner D).
