【CANADA】AKJKAQ Winter Camp 2023 (Montreal, Canada)

The 2023 AKJKAQ’s Winter Camp took place at ÉTS in Montreal on February 25th and 26th. The Camp that was opened for the 6th kyu and up was a  success with a total of 92 participants from 17 different dojos.

The classes were given by Sensei Jean-Pierre Cusson, 7th Dan, Sensei Louis Dessaint, 7th Dan and Sensei Manon Quirion 6th Dan. All the Shitei and Sentei Kata were covered along with Hangetsu, Nijushio and Gojushio Sho. The first 3 trainings were for 6th kyu and up and the last training was reserved for brown and black belts. Along with some specific kihons, the different forms of kumite were practiced with a special attention on Jiyu Ippon kumite. A special accent was also put on kicking techniques and combination. There was also a briefing for those taking qualifications and a review of the Judges gestures.
Congratulations to everyone training hard during this Camp!

The Dan exam was very successfull with 9 Shodan and 2 Nidan.
The Qualification exam resulted with 3 Instructor D, 2 Judge D, and 3 Examiner D
