【CANADA】 AKJKAQ’ Winter Camp, February 17-18, 2024

The 33rd AKJKAQ’s Winter Camp was an opportunity for 91 karatekas to gather and train together with good spirit during 2 days. Although the Camp was opened to green belts and up, the vast majority of participants was the brown and black belts. The 3 Instructors at this Camp were Sensei Jean-Pierre Cusson, 7th Dan, Sensei Louis Dessaint, 7th Dan and Sensei Manon Quirion, 7th Dan. Classes were divided in smaller groups during the 30 minutes kata session in every class with a rotation of Instructor. The black belts group had the opportunity to work on Hangetsu, Jitte, Tekki Sandan, Sochin and Gojushio sho. The brown belts group focus was on the shitei kata in preparation of the Dan exam and the green and blue belts had the opportunity to polish the 5 heian and tekki shodan. The kumite part covered the different types of kumite, including ippon kumite related the kata bunkai. Black belts had also specific training, challenging their speed and timing. The last training was followed by the Qualification exams and the Dan exams. Congratulations to the eleven new Shodan, two new Instructor D and Judge D and one new Examiner D.
