3rd Grand JKA Karate championship 2013

The chairman of JKA in UAE, Abdul Rahman Al Haddad, organized a JKA event in the UAE which was conducted by Shihan (Master) Naka. The honor guest Shihan Naka arrived on Wednesday Nov 9th early morning and the schedule went perfect as planned. On the same day at noon a press conference was held to stress on the importance of this event and to introduce Shihan Naka to the karate fans in the UAE; as everybody in the karate world have heard about him, but most of them haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him in person.

 

On Wednesday evening the seminar started. The seminar included 75 players and instructors who were eager to learn and benefit from his expertise. On Thursday evening and Friday morning the training continued with high techniques in kata, kumite and an unforgettable valuable lecture in the essence of this unique kind of martial arts. The feed back was excellent on this seminar. On Friday evening Shihan Naka conducted the black belt examinations to the students who attended from all different Emirates. The seminar was concluded by the distribution of participation diplomas.

 

On Saturday, which was also the final day more than 200 karatekas joined the championship, which was organized to demonstrate their skills and knowledge of this spiritual martial art. For the first time in karate championships, there was a digital screen that displayed the results to the audience. There were 26 referees, who trained by myself. Classes were held every Friday for over a year to educate the referees on the JKA style and rules. The championship ran smoothly, thanks to the efforts of everybody involved.

 

The opening ceremony took place at the end of the championship, where his Excellency Japan Consul General of Dubai, patronage the event and presented the medals to the winners. Oman team joined all the functions and received a trophy for their winnings. The Philippines School students presented an outstanding performance that was very well organized and a pleasure to watch.

 

At the end, all karate players and instructors expressed their gratitude for this unique opportunity, and were astonished by the high level of expertise of Shihan Naka. They were impressed at how much they had benefited and advanced forward in just a few days. Everybody is looking forward to having this event held annually.
