【KYRGYZTAN】 Report on the 2026 Seminar in Kyrgyzstan
The third international JKA karate training seminar took place in the city of Karakol from June 19 to June 21, 2026.
The seminar was conducted under the guidance of the distinguished, world-renowned master and JKA Technical Director, Shihan Katsutoshi Shiina (JKA 8th Dan).
Over 80 athletes participated in the event, including instructors and representatives from JKA WF Kyrgyzstan clubs, as well as guests from the Russian Federation representing the RTFK.
The training seminar was held in an engaging and productive atmosphere. During the sessions, participants gained valuable knowledge and practical skills while also refining their techniques.
Special emphasis was placed on studying and perfecting kata of various levels. Shihan Katsutoshi Shiina provided detailed demonstrations of technical elements, highlighted common errors, and helped participants correct flaws in their kata execution.
The kumite sessions generated great interest; they covered various techniques, tactical maneuvers, and the technical-tactical aspects of sparring. The Shihan’s practical recommendations enabled the athletes to gain a deeper understanding of how to apply kumite techniques effectively.
Demonstrations of kata at various levels also took place during the seminar, allowing participants to broaden their knowledge of JKA technical requirements and principles.
In addition to the training sessions, Shihan Katsutoshi Shiina conducted black belt examinations and held professional development activities for instructors and referees.
The seminar was a significant event for the athletes, instructors, and referees of JKA WF Kyrgyzstan. Participants had the opportunity to learn from a highly skilled master, refine their techniques, and receive valuable guidance for their continued professional and athletic development.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our Sensei—Shihan Katsutoshi Shiina—for his professionalism, expertise, and personal attention to every participant, as well as for the opportunity to continue honing our skills within the traditions of the JKA school.
We also wish to thank all the athletes, instructors, referees, organizers, and guests who took part in the third international seminar in the city of Karakol.
