【MALTA】JKA WF Malta International Summer Gasshuku with Hirayama Yuko Sensei
Between 22 and 26 July, JKA WF Malta had the privilege of welcoming Hirayama Sensei, 7th Dan JKA Instructor, to Malta for the first time.
During her visit, a series of dojo training sessions were conducted throughout the week, with particular emphasis on advanced kata for brown and black belts, as well as a dedicated JKA instructors’ class. These sessions provided an opportunity for participants and instructors to further develop their technical knowledge, precision and understanding of the principles underlying JKA karate.
The highlight of the visit was the International Seminar held over the weekend, which brought together 104 participants, including karateka from Italy, England, Sweden and Hungary, as well as members of JKA WF Malta.
The training programme was structured in a systematic and comprehensive manner, with particular emphasis on the fundamental principles of Kihon. Hirayama Sensei demonstrated how a strong understanding and consistent application of fundamental techniques provides the essential foundation for both Kumite and Kata, reinforcing the integral relationship between the three fundamental elements of JKA Karate training.
Throughout the seminar, Hirayama Sensei demonstrated exceptional energy, enthusiasm and commitment to teaching with her instruction characterised by a clear focus on technical detail, precision and the continual refinement of fundamental skills.
JKA WF Malta extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Hirayama Sensei for sharing her extensive knowledge, experience and expertise, and for making her first visit to Malta a highly valuable and memorable occasion for all those who participated.
JKA WF Malta would also like to express its sincere thanks to its sponsors, APS Bank, MCVS, and Josmar Muscat Photography, for their generous support and partial funding of the event, as well as all participants, instructors, guests and parents whose contribution helped make the event a success.
