Katsutoshi Shiina Shihan, 8^th Dan Technical Director JKA, was invited by JKA Pakistan for the 9^th JKA National Camp & 11^th JKA National Karate Championship from 13^th to 16^th January, 2026 in Karachi. It was a privilege and great honor for us to host Shiina Shihan. Shiina Shihan was received at Jinnah International Airport Karachi by Hussain Ali Changezi Sensei, President & Chief Instructor JKA Pakistan and JKA Pakistan officials.

On 13^th January, the 9^th JKA National Karate Training Camp was inaugurated by Deputy Consul General of Japan, Mr. NAKAGAWA Yashushi, in YMCA Hall Karachi. Prof. Dr. Jamil Hassan Kazmi Vice Chancellor of Fatimiyah International University, was the guest of honor of the program. The two-day training camp comprised instructor training, color belts training and all ranks training. A special zero class for beginners was also conducted by Shiina Shihan and JKA Pakistan instructors.

Shiina Shihan conducted kata, kihon and kumite sessions in two-days training program. Participants keenly participated in all seminars and learn a lot. Shihan’s logical explanations of connecting all aspects of khion, kata and kumite made it easier to understand even for the junior-most members in the camp.

Dan examination conducted by Shiina Shihan on 14^th January, Hussain Ali Changezi Sensei passed the 6^th Dan Exam. Shiina Shihan announced that he has been visiting Pakistan for the past 30 years. Changezi is the first ever instructor from Pakistan to pass the 6th Dan Exam. Further, two members passed the 2^nd Dan and 6 members passed the 1^st Dan examinations. Major ® Asadullah Changezi was the chief guest of the 9^th training camp Karachi, 2026. He commended the dedicated efforts of JKA Pakistan in promoting and developing Karate within the country. He also congratulated Hussain Ali Changezi Sensei for passing the 6^th Dan examination.

On 15^th January, the 11^th JKA National Karate Championship was formally inaugurated by Shiina Katsutoshi Shihan, Technical Director JKA. Players and officials were very excited that this is for the first time that Shiina Shihan personally himself observe the championship. At night, Mr. HATTORI Masaru, Consul General of Japan, hosted a dinner in his official residence in honor of Katsutoshi Shiina Shihan and the leadership of JKA Pakistan was also invited. Delicious and traditional Japanese food was served in dinner.

On 16^th January evening, the finals and prize distribution ceremony of the 11^th JKA National Karate Championship in YMCA Karachi. Mr. HATTOTRI Masaru, Consul General of Japan, was the Chief Guest, while the guests of honor included Ex. Senator Sana Jamali and Dr. Jamil Hassan Kazmi. Additionally, several prominent community members were present at the championship’s closing ceremony. During the closing ceremony, Hussain Ali Changezi Sensei, President & Chief Instructor of JKA Pakistan, extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, the Guests of Honor, esteemed guests, Shiina Shihan, as well as all officials, instructors, and competitors. Both Shiina Shihan and the Chief Guest, Consul General of Japan, HATTORI Masaru, delivered speeches at the event.
