【MALTA】JKA WF Malta Winter Seminar

The JKA WF Malta Winter Seminar was held from 28th to 30th November under the guidance of Izumiya Sensei. The seminar brought together participants from all JKA clubs in Malta, along with friends from JKA Portugal, creating a positive atmosphere of unity and shared technical development.

Throughout the seminar, emphasis was placed on the accurate execution of fundamental techniques, particularly highlighting the responsibility of instructors to maintain and transmit correct JKA standards. Continuous attention was given to correct posture, balance, and stability in stance, reinforcing the structural foundations required for effective karate practice.

Kihon training focused on the core JKA principles that techniques must be fast, strong, and expansive, the importance of applying sharp rotation only at the final moment of each technique, together with correct use of the core and proper hiki-ashi in leg techniques to ensure control, balance, and effective power generation.

In kata training, practitioners were encouraged to perform with an awareness of multiple opponents, whilst in kumite, emphasis was placed on developing instant reaction through unified block and counterattack, effective use of leg pressure to generate fast forward movement, and cultivating a decisive, forward-thinking mindset without fear or hesitation.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Izumiya Sensei for his dedicated guidance and instruction during the Seminar.
