Sad News -Shihan Stan Schmidt-

South African-born Shihan Stan Schmidt passed away on 7th October, 2019 in Melborone, Australia. He was 83 years old.

Shihan Stan Schmidt trained at JKA HQ dojo from 1960s’ to be the first Non-Japanese 7th Dan holder and a member of Shiankai.

He devoted himself to promotion and developement of Karate-do in the world including Africa and Australia.

We, Japan Karate Association HQ would like to express our deepest sympathies on passing away of Shihan Stan Schmidt.
