ISKF RESIGNS FROM JKA/WFISKF (International Shotokan Karate Federation) has rejected the resolution passed at the JKA/WF International Board of Directors meeting in January 2007, in which they participated; on June 11, 2007 they officially resigned from JKA/WF. JKA HQ has formally accepted this resignation. Three of the four founding members of ISKF, Mikami-Sensei, Koyama-Sensei, and Takashina-Sensei, have decided to remain with the Japan Karate Association, and have resigned from ISKF. They have now established a new JKA organization named JKA/WF Americas, which has been formally approved by JKA HQ. Any ISKF member countries or individual members who decided to leave ISKF are welcome to join JKA HQ or JKA/WF Americas. However, since the automatic approval period is expired, their qualifications including Dan ranking shall be re-registered after the re-examination.
