NOTICEJKA World Federation Membership Fees Are Mandatory As stipulated in the Japan Karate Association World Federation Regulations, membership in the JKA/WF requires payment of a Membership Fee and an annual Communication Fee.

Recently it has come to the attention of Tokyo JKA HQ that these Fees have not been received from certain countries; either a number of JKA World Federation member countries have failed to pay one or both Fees, or the Regional representatives have not forwarded these monies to the Tokyo JKA HQ, as per Bylaw 2, Item 3 of the JKA/WF Regulations Bylaws/Penal Regulations.

Bylaw 2 of the Regulations is reproduced here for your review:

2. JKA/WF Membership Fee and Communication Fee
     1. Each representative organization is obliged to pay a Membership Fee when joining the JKA/WF and a Communication Fee every year from the second year.
     2. Amount of Membership Fee:
   Class A: US$ 1000         Class B: US$ 600
   Class C: US$ 300           Class D: US$ 100
*Classification is determined according to each country’s economic level
     3. Amount of Communication Fee: US$ 200 except Class D (US$ 100). The Fees should be paid to the headquarters of JKA/WF, through the respective Regional office.

While to date we have never enforced this requirement, it is a requirement nonetheless, and we will be monitoring this matter on an ongoing basis. Membership or affiliation is invalid if these dues are unpaid.

We kindly request all JKA/WF members to check once again and ensure that all required fees have been paid to the appropriate Regional representative. Likewise, we urge Regional representatives in all regions to correctly and promptly forward all JKA/WF Membership and Communication Fees to the Tokyo JKA HQ.

We thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Ueki Masaaki
Executive Director
