REPORT: 2009 JKA Bahrain Camp

2009 JKA Bahrain Fall Camp was conducted November 12/13/14 and attended by karateka from JKA Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and England. This was our biggest event this year, the camp was conducted by Kenro Kurasako Sensei (7th dan), supervised by JKA Bahrain, and supported by JKA Kuwait and JKA UAE.

  • Thursday 12th – Opening seminar followed by Junior’s training then adult seminar.
  • Friday 13th - Two long seminars were conducted then followed by review for Dan and Qualifications examinations.
  • Saturday 14th – Examinations for Dan and Instructor/Examiner/Judge Qualifications

Kurasako Sensei focused on basic kihon and kata for Kyu and black belts covering kata such as Kankudai, Jion, Empi, and other important technical details for instructors to watch out for when training children and adults.

A general meeting was chaired by Kurasako Sensei to discuss important points for the MEA region. A full report was put together and to be discussed later at JKA HQ.

Overall, the JKA Bahrain Fall Camp was a great success for all karateka that attended from Bahrain and other countries. We are all looking forward to 2010 JKA Bahrain Fall Camp.
